Vaendral Army Starter

This starter set is the perfect introduction to playing small games of Argatoria and I would definitely recommend getting a couple of boxes of these to boost your army's size. At the time of this review, I have played several games using this starter set and have had a relative balance of victories and defeats vs other factions (they are pretty powerful on the charge so make sure to keep enemy units held up with one unit whilst charging with another!). These miniature were a delight to build with very little attention needed to remove extra plastic from the models (apart from the half-giants and Voutars where slightly more care was needed). After washing, undercoating and basing these models, starting to paint these (still in progress) was a great joy (coming from someone who finds painting the least enjoyable part of the hobby!). It is amazing how detailed they are on such a small scale (the Voutars are my favourite due to the possibility of dry-brushing them) and look forward to seeing the outcome of a fully painted Vaendral force!

This is a great assortment of units for the army. Especially since you can use the amazons, Barbarians and Command Groups as either Vaendral or Dirandis. It is a bit of a pity, that several units have only minimum strengh, but it is a good start to get a feel for the army and the system or to expand an existing Vaendral army.

The models are really detailed and beautifully made. They captivate with their detail, despite their small scale. The pose and desgin from the 90s, introduces a nostalgic mood. The quality deserves praise. A solid job! Keep it up!
